Also published, as a supplement to the Journal of the House of Representatives, session of 1859-60, [St Paul, Minn., Newson, Moore, Foster & Co.], 1860 (53p.). In June 1859 Taylor was commissioned by the governor of Minnesota to report on the country between St Paul and the Red River Settlement and the Rocky Mountains. Supplementing the report are several appendices including: "Central British America" (also in Atlantic Monthly , January 1860); "Geographical memoir of the Red River and Saskatchewan districts" (also in Report of a Committee of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce, Jan. 22 1859 ); and "Itinerary of routes from St. Paul to Pembina, Fort Garry, Fort Ellice, and Edmonton House."
