Jackson, Thomas Wesley (1848-1931.)
1848-1931. Born in Ontario; educated in Quebec City; large land owner in Qu'Appelle Valley, 1882-1888; owned biggest private dwelling in NWT; elected member of NWT Council; lived in Ontario and British Columbia before going to Yukon at the time of the gold rush; lawyer and crown prosecutor in Whitehorse to c.1926; great friend of Robert Service, and claimed to have suggested themes for some of his poems (Saskatchewan Archives, Regina Division, Biographical file).
