Blakiston, Thomas Wright (1832-1891.)
1832-1891. Born in Lymington, England; entered Royal Military Academy and became soldier; served in Crimea; retired from British Army and joined Palliser expedition as specialist in magnetic variations and ornithology, 1858; went to China and Japan for business and ornithology; spent last years in San Diego, California.
