Born in Quebec of old-country French parentage; to western Canada to teach school at Montmartre, Saskatchewan, 1893-1902; engaged in real estate business and practice of law at Manor, Saskatchewan, 1902-1911; founded and edited The Herald at The Pas, 1911-1913; called to the Manitoba bar, 1913; edited La libre parole at Winnipeg, 1916-1919; engaged in law practice at Ste-Rose-du-Lac, Manitoba, 1919-1922, and later in Winnipeg; went to Los Angeles about 1929 (Wallace, Dictionary of Canadian biography).
