The FlipBook provides another option for reading Peel materials on your computer screen. It allows you to "flip" or turn pages in a way that is similar to turning the pages of a physical book.
Pages can be turned by clicking on any of the page images, as well as by clicking on the arrows that are found in the top navigation bar. Clicking on the right-hand side of the book will advance the page; clicking on the left-hand side of the book will take you back.
The toolbar at the top contains a number of functions.
- You can zoom in (+) or out (-) by clicking on the magnifying glass icon
- You can access a scrolling or "1-up" view of the pages by clicking on the scroll icon
- You can access a book view or "2-up" view of the pages by clicking on the book icon
- You can view or navigate back to the original Peel record by clicking on the displayed Peel title
- You can type any page number into the Page box to jump to a desired point
- You can go backwards or advance the page by clicking on the corresponding arrow
- You can press the "Play" button (arrow with a circle) to view the book as a self-advancing slide show.
The right-hand side of the page contains a search box that allows for keyword searching. Enter a search term to get a list of results. Clicking on any search result will immediately jump you to the corresponding page where the keyword can be found.
FlipBook is adapted from the GNUBook project and our friends at the Open Library.
Please note: Flipbook is an experimental service and may not work correctly on older or non-mainstream browsers. Firefox 3 or Internet Explorer 7 is recommended.
