- Description : Black and white photograph of the Mewata Armory situated at 801 11st SW. Photograph show the whole building with a field of bushes in front. Built 1915-1918 of red brick and sandstone. Architect was T.W. Fuller. The building featured a large central drill hall with 117 rooms (two stories) around the perimeter. Mewata is a Cree word meaning "O Be Joyful". Declared a National Historic Site May 11, 1991, only the fourth building in Calgary to receive a national designation.
