1852-1934. Born in Germany; to U.S.A. with his family, 1866; after a successful career in the Minnesota Legislature, became interested in Canadian farm land in 1901 and settled near Dundurn, Saskatchewan; success of Meilicke and settlers who came with him led to the formation of the Saskatchewan Valley Land Co. and to large American immigration; later in business in Saskatoon; moved to Vancouver, 1920.
