During the period of western Canadian settlement, the government of Canada engaged in a series of negotiations with the area’s native populations. To better understand this process and the agreements that resulted, we will be examining select documents and websites pertaining, in particular, to Treaty 6 at Forts Carlton and Pitt, Manitoba.
