Today, that issue, and many, many more, are available on the Peel site!
Two years ago, we partnered with the Société historique de Saint-Boniface, the owner of the La Liberté archives, to digitize the entire 100 years of the francophone newspaper La Liberté, in honour of its 2013 centennial celebrations. In addition to the coordination efforts of the Société historique de Saint-Boniface, this project benefited from the help of the Manitoba Legislative Library, which provided microfilm reels of the early years of the newspaper, and from funding support from the Société franco-manitobaine and the Université de Saint-Boniface. After many, many scanning and processing hours, the full run of issues will be ready for the June gala launch!
Peel's Prairie Provinces is 10!
Ten years ago today, the Peel's Prairie Provinces website was launched! The content of the site has grown exponentially since that time, with more newspapers, directories, postcards, books, etc., added every year. In the upcoming months, we will be highlighting some of our latest treasures that await your perusal. To celebrate with us today, why not take a look back in time at this 2003 Folio article, "Peel's project finally completed," that announces the new website? Little did we know this project was only just taking off…

You may have noticed that many of your favourite features of the Peel site are not currently available. While you were at nice Halloween parties on the weekend, we've been working frantically to restore our servers after a major power outage on campus. It must be all the ghouls and goblins out and about for Halloween playing tricks on our content! We hope to have everything working properly again as soon as possible. In the meantime, please be patient with the Peel site's tomfoolery!
